The extra H is for hamazing!
Either way. FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK
HAVE ALL MY CREYS. GOOD FUCKING GOD IT'S SO GOOD.
I'm really glad I did spend the money on a 3DS, otherwise I would've never had the chance to play the new version of Kid Icarus.
Thanks to Archwig I really quickly fell in love with Kid Icarus and surprisingly enough, Pit is one of my SSBB mains.
I did hear ruckus about a DS version of Kid Icarus, but I never believed these were true.
Kid Icarus Uprising is an amazing game for the Nintendo 3DS, with a lot of action and gaming fun.
You play as the hero Pit, who now has to defeat Medusa Goddess of the Underworld once more as she's been revived randomly.
Each Level, or Chapter as called by the game, has two sections. One part plays in the sky where, with the Power of Light, you are able to fly and shoot enemies and the other part plays on the ground, where you walk around and kick enemy's butts.
At the end of each chapter awaits a boss.
During the game, Goddess Palutena and Pit will have conversations, giving in my opinion the game a great mood. It is similar to the Star Fox Games, very similar. As you play the characters will simply chit-chat, give you tips or explain things about the game.
I want to start with the negative sides of the game, because I know these find an early end, as there are too many good sides to list them all.
A rather negative aspect of the game is the control.
You move casually with the slide pad, shoot with one of the shoulder buttons (L/R) and aim with touch-screen.
Getting the hang of this control is extremely tricky and as you also move the camera perspective with the touch-screen when you are on the ground. On land battles, the camera was my biggest enemy. However, the idea is nice and you get used of it-
Another thing is the conversation.
I just said that I really liked them, as they bring life into everything and always lightens up the mood or darkens it if necessary. The problem with it is more likely the translations. In European versions, you will hear the characters holding their conversations in English and read the translation of their words either on the touch- or top-screen. Wherever you set it to. You will struggle a lot reading and playing at the same time as the conversations go while you play. You will not be able to do both with the action going on.
I was lucky to understand most by hearing, but those who don't eventually need a couple of tries for a chapter just to read what they say and then play.
As I said, the list of negative things will have an end. It's only 2 things.
Positive aspects!
Voice Acting and Conversations
The voice acting in this game was phenomenal! At first I was skeptical with the voices given Palutena and Pit, after all we are used to Pit's SSBB voice now, which is not used. Still, it fits Pit perfectly and I got to like it a lot as the game went by. The voices of the Villains were fantastic though. Nice chosen and with a lot of enthusiasm
As I've mentioned before, as known from the Star Fox Games, the characters will talk during your game play. At some point they talk too much, but still it's nice to have the voices and 'somebody' around. The conversations themselves can be extremely hilarious and enjoyable with a good taste of humor for young and old.
I want to give the conversations an extra plus for a certain logic. Whenever you face a new monster, the game doesn't just tell you how to fight it, Pit wonders how to and Palutena explains. It seems like a little thing, but it's what I loved.
Characters
The characters were amazingly developed. Everyone had their own, very unique personality! It was so nice to hear their conversations with all these quirky enemies! Not to forget the designs at this point. Sure it wasn't all like the good old NES game anymore, but things have to go on, no? And I simply loved the given designs.
Level-Design
The Level design gets so much praise here. This game pulls everything out of your 3DS. It did it's best to make the 3D effect work and give you a nice view and it was a success. In one Chapter you're in the light blue sky with the sun shining down on you and in the next you're in the dark underworld, surrounded by cold rocks. Everything you see in this game is so amazing and has to be discovered and viewed.
Gaming Fun
I'll bring this to an end here and put the gaming Fun as my last positive aspect.
The game has so much to show aside the amazing main story: multiplayer, collectables and achievements.
Even if you've finished the game, there is so much more to do to gather just everything - it's what I'm still doing.
The Chapters of the game themselves were so much fun, too. Since the game is in 3D, you have to pay attention not to overwork your eyes, but the game helps! The chapters have a really nice length to play and not overdo your eyes. If you aren't a person to sit 2 to 4 hours in front of your gaming console and rather just play your 20 minutes and then put your game away, this game is perfect. Each Chapter is around 20 minutes which makes it a really nice length in my opinion.
With the two different battle styles in the sky and on ground the game gives you a lot of different content. Making it varied and yet harmonic.
